Ill start, this past weekends fight Floyd vs Maidana 2... thoughts? imho Floyd still has skills. His "D" is pretty legit but this fight was totally unnecessary. The outcome was inevitable.

I love Floyd and I love Pac, but to be honest im pretty sick of both of them. Cant wait till they "never fight each other" and we can focus on other guys that dont have promotional issues and dont dodge each other. Bring back the old school Hagler/Hearns/Duran. I havent completely converted over to watching UFC but they are trying really hard to get me there. Just a rant ...

As far as this fight goes... people say it was boring but i appreciate floyds skills. But even as a Floyd fan I have to agree, fight someone else. Khan, Thurman at least man.

How about Pac and Algeri, Floyd and Pac literally ran out of tomato cans to fight. Time to put up or shut the "f" up and fight each other. (not going to happen). Future fights that I hope to happen in the future though.
Cotto vs Canelo
JCC vs GGG
Walters vs Donaire (pending cant miss fight)
But for now ill just enjoy Hopkins/Kovalev.

Floyd would have issues against those two guys. People say Floyd and Khan would be a joke but I think it would be a lot closer then people think and if the money is right I would put it on Khan. Amir doesnt have the best chin, its actually made of glass but Floyd hits with two pillows so I dont think he would get close to a KO. Speed kills, and Floyd has problems with that. Reference Judah vs Floyd first 6 rounds before a standard Judah blowup.

GGG is mad interesting, but the problem with boxing is it's so easy to handpick opponents and rig your record til you get that big payday with all the hype only to lose to an elite fighter
Could see this happening with a GGG vs Andre Ward scenario
ariolis30 — 2014-09-18T15:28:36-04:00 — #8
True, GGG is an exciting fighter but he has yet to be truly tested. Geale and Stevens, and now Rubio??? But just a hunch, I think he can take his skills and do well against the elite fighters.

Mayweather has a impregnable defense game! He doesn't let his opponents hit him but its funny how people think that getting hit less and allowing the other guy throw more punches = he is losing the fight. Mayweather is smart in this regard because he does not let haters bait him out. Although he has a massive ego, that ego is def suppressed in the ring and the objective at hand is always put in priority

Yes this is true. He is definitely on the decline though but he's still great. Im really curious to see who he picks for his next 2 fights. I hope its Khan then Pacquiao but we all know how that goes.

Harley I think Khans chin is actually that bad. I actually can see him getting careless and getting caught again like he did against Garcia. I would love to see that fight though, it would draw a bigger crowd then Mayweather v. Maidana 2
harleydavidson — 2014-09-19T01:42:31-04:00 — #12
well see about that, hopefully floyd thinks the same way you do and doesn't see khan as a threat.

i just put khan in high regard man, luis collazo made him look good and was tailor made for his style. put khan in with ANY kind of speed and hes going to get hit eventually. as defensive as floyd is hes still faster than garcia, or maidana which khan got KOd and almost KOd respectively.

Has anyone been to a live event, its real expensive but just wanted to know if they are worth it to go too
harleydavidson — 2014-09-25T17:04:45-04:00 — #15
overrated, last one i went to was the pacquiao clottey fight in TX. wasnt worth the flight + ticket. HBO/showtime is good though, you get to sit at your home comfortable and do whatever you want. I guess if you want to experience it then its cool but more then once I wuoldnt be able to stand it. Thats just me though
blackrabbit — 2014-09-26T01:15:37-04:00 — #16
Anyone see Mayweather admit his whole show was fake hahahah

nicholas walters is the real freakin deal. I knew it would be a fire fight but the result is as i expected, great great fight
as far as GGG he keeps putting up performances like that no one is going to fight him. i know how GGG wants Cotto and i know Cotto always fights the best but this would be another margarito repeat except GGG hands are naturally loaded
