I feel like I would take Melo before KLove

This is Head 2 Head and snake draft.

I would take Love over Melo easily. Melo beats love in pts, ft% (marginal) and steals. The rest I would say Love has the edge over Melo

I guess it depends how much of a hit Love's numbers will take this year.

Last year Melo shot at a better percentage from 3's (around 40%) compared to Love's (37%). For assists, last year Kevin love averaged 4.4 and Melo at 3.1, but I think that this will go down because of LBJ and Kyrie. Yes of course rebounds Klove will average more, but Melo's rebounding proficiency has become better in the last couple of years. This is why I am unsure now.

I think Loves 3pt % will go up this year as I see him having more open 3 opportunities

Melos numbers should increase and Loves should decrease.
That being said, I would still take Love over Melo for fantasy
jagice21 — 2014-10-01T10:47:10-04:00 — #8
But why? What is your argument for that?
elogreen — 2014-10-01T10:59:28-04:00 — #9
@Jagice21 for one, Love's FG% will go up by playing beside Lebron. I see his 3pt % and makes will go up as well. This will help offset his marginal decrease in PPG and Reb
Also keep in mind Melo will hurt you on TO
jagice21 — 2014-10-01T16:57:15-04:00 — #10
Yes but TO's are such toss up. Plus Melo's turnovers per game in the last 3 years has been around 2.6 not so bad for a guy who has the ball in his hands so much. Plus I don't think Love's FG% will go up I think he will stay around his average of 45% and his 3 point percentage will also stay around his career average. I like to compare Love to Bosh. Bosh's number in the first year playing with Lebron went down in most categories... points, rebounds, assists (staying quite close to his career averages). I think Love's last year stats of 2.5 three made was an anomaly he will be closer to 1.8 makes per game
If Melo can average 8 rebounds a game and KLove averages 10 a game. I will go with Melo.
Melo: Points, Assists, Steals, FT%, 3 points made
Love: Rebounds, TOs, FG% (for arguments sake let us give this to Klove)
Same: Blocks
By this reasoning I would take Melo, but I do agree I do not know the effect Lebron will have on KLove.
So we will see.

I think they are so close it is hard to say. Both playing in new systems and it will be interesting to see Lebrons impact on Love. I don't see as dramatic of a decline like Bosh had his first year

You make some good pts. Melo might edge out Love marginally but its also dependent on how he performs in the triangle offense
bigq — 2014-10-02T10:53:19-04:00 — #13
I agree Melo Before LOVE while Love playing with a better team his numbers will drop and in NY its all about Melo lets see how he does with Jackson's Triangle

Also take into account that Cleveland might rest Love near the end of the season when they have a playoff spot already locked up. Melo will need to be run into the ground for NYC to even sniff a spot.
